We have to admit that this may not be a small step.
If you’re a gardener and you plant an extra row of summer vegetables, it can involve a fair amount of work. But the IMPACT of having food to share, can be giant!
With rising food prices and reduced funding for a food shelves and nutrition support programs, we’re looking for ways to have impact.
During World War II, Victory Gardens in the US produced approximately 40% of the nation's vegetables. This significant contribution helped supplement the national food supply and was a key part of the war effort.
Growing that extra row and providing fresh vegetables to support local need, addresses more than the need for food, it’s also good for the environment!
